Also good to know. This is what my headrest do and I'll put that on my list which really isn't that long.......for this car. My list for other things are astronomical or so it seems. :^) TM

Hi all, I borrow this thread a little.
My headrest on my 2002 XKR has stopped moving up and down by motor power. However it takes no effort to raise it by hand and then gravity quickly puts it back in lowest possition.
Is this still the same problem or could it be something else broken? I am not a skilled mechanic so I want to know before starting ripping stuff apart.

You've likely popped the headrest out of it's nylon base. Should be no worries if the base is not broken. As noted, it appears to be nylon and is pretty robust in my experience.

To test, push down hard on the headrest to reseat it. If it doesn't easily come up, you're fine. If you want it freely moving again, just sharply pull upwards to pull it out again.
