Headlight bulb replacement
I am trying to get a replacement low beam bulb for my 06 xk8, should, or can I refer to my Vin., sounds to me like even the part # may have changed

If it's an 06' you most likely have the HID system. The low beam bulb is a D1S xenon bulb, I suggest Phillips Xtreme Vision or Osram Nightbreaker HID bulbs. If it's the high beam, that is a 9006 halogen bulb.
