Headlight Bulb - Low Beam - Removal
Guest
Posts: n/a
The car is a 2003 S-Type, 4.2ltr. V8
The low beam bulb is burned out on the driver's side (US). I was expecting to find a 1/4 turn socket type bulb like was used for the high beam bulb but not so. Hasve any of you replaced this bulb before and how di you get it out? There appears to be soem sort of wire clip that holds it in but it's not completely clear how this thing comes out. I'm afraid to get too agressive for fear of busting something. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Also, this is the standard style lighting and not the xenon type.

I hope you are more successful in searching for an answer than I. I tried, just to get familiar with the search function and found nothing about the 2003 S-Type headlight bulb replacement specifics. I will look for a site to help you in the meantime.

Click on the search tab. Type in Headlight and at least 4 listing come up. Not very difficult.

I DID that - nothing in the items that came up address this specific question. Not much help.
Taken from previous post:
i took out mine yesterday to put new bulbs in, its pretty simple once you figure out that there are clips holding the bulb in. open the plastic cap, and disconnect the wire form the bulb, and then theres a clip u need to remove. once thats done the bulb just falls loose and u can remove it.
hope this helps

I am having the same problem, still cannot remove the headlight to get to the bulbs. I have an 03 s type 4.2 with the factory HID. I want to replace both low beam bulbs with 8000K bulbs for a better look. Ive called many dealers and they are telling me this is not pissible, any help?
