If it were me, I'd separate the lens by baking in an oven, and then find someone that does silvering, which is how mirrors are made. Plastic can be re-silvered pretty easily by someone with the right kit.
I used Mirror paint from Culture Hustle with good results (even though I brush painted it). Search for 'Mirroriest Mirror paint' by Stuart Semple, a much cheaper alternative to vacuum coating.
When I resprayed my ‘97, I took apart the headlights, heated the lens with a heat gun, and separated the glass. This gave me access to remove the failing chrome finish. Came off easily with lacquer thinner, but be careful as it dries out the plastic easily. Then I sprayed adhesion promoter, primer, dorchester gray base coat, and some clear coat. The results look amazing. It isn’t a full “blackout” look, but gives the headlights a darker, more modern look while appearing very OEM.
