Default Headlight differences

Attached are 2 photos from 2 different 2003 Jags. Why does one have a tint and one does not?
THanks

Might be HID or EXCEPT HID but there are two different part numbers for 2003MY.(USA)
TO VIN (A31899) C2N1427 superseded
FROM VIN (A31900) C2N2440
I would guess the non painted reflector is the early Part Number.

From 2003, the R versions have black headlights, the XK8 still have the classic chrome style.

On the black headlights, the low beams are HID/Xenon. On the chrome headlights, everything is halogen.

yes, looks like the dark is HID but the sensing mechanism is broken in the left front wheel well. Thanks

This is very common and the effect is that the car keeps them aimed to the lowest position when the sensor is broken.
