Where can I learn about what type of headlights I have and why one low beam goes out when I switch on the high beams?

 

The bulb specifications are:

1. Front Parking Lamp: 12V 5W Capless Long Life
2. Headlamp - Main: 12V 60W Halogen HB3
3. Headlamp - Dip: 12V 55W Halogen H1 Long Life

To learn about removal, replacement of the headlamp, the bulbs and the levelling motors, you need JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) - the workshop manual.

I think you'll agree, you need the original Electrical Guide to see this properly.
