Hello Folks!!...
I seem to have a conundrum... Last year bought a 98 XK8. But I have this problem with the headlights. I asked this question a year ago, but couldn't figure it out. Possibly this year someone will be able to give me an idea or two. They will not turn on (parking lights included). They will work on position #4 if it is dark. You can ''flash'' the brights anytime by moving the stalk, but I can't get any lights from 1-3.
Anyone have any suggestions??

My guess is a stalk problem. You could try disassembing the stalk and see if its a connection issue on positions 1-3, since 4 is rarely used...at least by me. I hate 'auto' headlights.

worse case, you break it, and have to get a salvage one from Ken at motorcarsltd, or PM Jagtechohio, both have salvage XKs with lots of good, guaranteed working parts.

 

Agreed, replace the switch stalk.
