Default Heater Matrix Temperature Sensor ?

You guys have been helping me this week with my climate control issue. I'm posting separate questions to keep it easy to read. Once I figure this out I'll summarize for future reference.

Issue: started with climate control temp display self setting to 24 degrees Celsius (if I recall that's 74 farenheit). So it switched inside temp from 68 farenheit to 24 Celsius. I could reset it and all worked ok.

This week things went down hill. Turn car on, beep noise just like when you forget to connect inside ambient sensor after working under the steering wheel, ER message in climate control display. Auto & AC buttons lit.
no buttons on climate control do anything. Air conditioner is on no fan, though last night I question if ac still engaged.

Climate control test sequence not available, buttons just do nothing.

Both the self test document and the detailed pin out / test document that Astromotg posted say that "only 3 error conditions will cause ER, beep, and have no codes" (wish it said these would freeze button function too).

error #11: Solar sensor failure
I measured this sensor to put out 2.25volts in partial sun last night. This is within acceptable range. Though the reading appears to be pulsed on for 2 seconds off 2 seconds.

Error code #21 in car aspirator failure.
Same thing fan is visually spinning. Voltage reads within acceptable range. It too pulses.

Error #15 Heater Matrix sensor failure
I'm lost. Anyone know where this sensor is? I'd sure like to measure it today.

Hey while I'm at it let me ask a couple more questions that someone whose done it before may know in case I have to dive further into this:

Is there an easy way to get to the connectors on the back of the climate control and or a/c controller without taking the center console apart? Guess I'm hoping it's a bad connection and I get lucky with easy access. Maybe remove glove box?

Heres an easy one: how the heck do I release the ambient air sensor from its mounting so I can take some measurements? The mount is just a flat metal blade, the sensor's plastic female side slips in, I couldn't see a way to release it last night.

Thanks, Maybe I'll get lucky today. This is starting to concern me because neither back or front defroster can be turned on during this error condition.

I think what you are looking for is called the heater core thermistor. I have attached an excerpt from the shop manual and a link to the part number.
