Can't wait for delivery today or tomorrow! It was 19 degrees this morning when I took the dog out so....maybe not so much driving with the top down right away.
Cheers,
Norm
Alright it's here! Not in picture-worthy condition (covered in dust and streaks) from exposed shipping, but otherwise ok. A few more issues than originally reported by the mechanic's inspection, but nothing catastrophic.
I'll try to find some time to call the dealer in Tulsa, OK where the last 7 years' worth of services were done. Thanks everyone!
Cheers,
Norm
- The tire sidewalls have quite a few cracks and down to 4/32 of an inch, so it looks I'll be replacing those very soon. Like within a few weeks once registration and insurance are done.
- No leaks that I could see after it sat in the garage overnight. The hoses and other exposed bits look pretty good. I've yet to jack it up as it's still so darn cold here, but the exposed bit of the shock tower mount is still in good/firm condition, which is a good sign.
- The turn signal noise is absent (I ordered a 2" replacement speaker last night) and the mirror switch is apparently broken so I'll have to order one of those too.

So the Big Wait is finally over.
Glad the real thing hasn't shown any nasty surprises.
Tyres should be 245 front & 255 rear, but no big deal for the moment provided the differing rims are on the correct axles. Just keep the speed down
I replaced my Michelin PS with PS4 last year: I'm totally happy with them, although there are lots of different choices (and opinions).
Enjoy!
P.S. pics, please, once you've given her a wash

Now Just another Guy is no longer,,,"Just another Guy" He's a Jaguar Guy! Send us photos so we will know which Wheels you have! The Tire sizes you have given show that someone was trying to "Stagger" the treads from Front to Back like the XKR with the 20" Wheels. My XKR has 20" BBS Montreal Wheels, which come with the Front@ 9" Wide, where as the Back Wheels are 10" Wide....Your XK probably has Regular Wheels which are normally 8.5" to 9" Wide...and the previous Owner has placed 8" Tires on the Front and 9" Tires on the Back in an attempt to have the Staggered effect....Should workout just fine for you!
Once again, Send Photos!

Updates:
Finally washed, waxed and treated the top (Still a little woozy from the Raggtop fumes!)
Replaced the LH window/mirror switch, so I can finally adjust my mirror!
Still waiting on Registration and plates to be finalized - hopefully this week!
Spoke with Tulsa Range Rover where the car was serviced from 2014-2019 and they were very helpful:
Also no records of transmission fluid service (makes sense, the car has 95k miles, but it would've been great if PO had it done).
No records of oil cooler line services (darn).
Their last service in early 2019 and the car was sold to a dealer in 2020 so it's overdue to an oil change.
Looks like the car was driven about 5-6,000 miles a year since 2014
There was a 50,000 mile service done at a Ford dealer back in 2012 that I need to call about, but no matter what the car seems to be in pretty good shape. The interior is in great shape (no rips, cracks or tears in the leather).
So I'll prioritize new front brakes and oil cooler lines for this year. I found a reputable Jag mechanic in Brookline that everyone seems to swear by for stuff I'll be too chicken to tackle myself (I'm looking at you, octopus hose).
Thanks all and Cheers,
Norm

Spoke with Tulsa Range Rover where the car was serviced from 2014-2019 and they were very helpful:
- Throttle body was replaced early on (2005 from the carfax)
- Front Brakes in 2012 (also from carfax)
- Both rear window regulators were replaced (passenger 2015, driver's side 2018)
- Upper strut mounts and sway bar bushings 2014
- Cannister Evap replaced 2015
- Battery replaced 2015
- Water pump replaced 2017
- Power Steering hose 2017
- Antenna replaced/repaired 2017
- Oil and filter change every year.
Also no records of transmission fluid service (makes sense, the car has 95k miles, but it would've been great if PO had it done).
