Hello, a shot in the dark here.
I'm not a mechanic, I tend to do things based off following YouTube tutorials, but I am seeking some advice before handing my wife's car over to a mechanic.

We have a Jaguar XK8 2003 with LPG dual fuel and its recently failed an MOT, as we are going to try and sell it.

The fog lights inside the car centre console aren't working to say the fog lights are on, which has caused the failed MOT as well as the screenwash motor isn't working so we can't spray water on the front window. The wipers do work though. I've checked the fuses as per the handbook and some post in this forum.

After speaking to my mechanic, he said he would have to do an investigation to see why these aren't working, but doesn't know how much it could potentially cost, so I'm trying to do the investigations beforehand to minimise the cost, would anyone have any recommendations? I think it would require a new motor for the screen wash and new bulbs, but I don't want to throw away the money as the parts are quite expensive and I haven't got a lot of money to throw at this.

It's very likely to be the bulb and the pump. These shouldn't be very expensive as there will certainly be non-Jaguar replacements for both.
