Greetings!

I am in the final stages of gathering the parts and tools to rebuild the engine in my 2000 XKR. One of the items I cannot seem to source is the JD 220 dummy main cap tools described in the engine assembly manual.

I have searched online with no results. Would anyone on the forum know of or have a set of these? Have not tried the dealers, but it would not seem they would be very common, since most dealers just plug in a new engine, rather than rebuilding.

For the price you would have to pay, assuming there are any out there, I would buy a piece of nylon bar, remove 1 cap & reverse engineer a home made version or two.

Nominal size of the journals is , I think 56mm

Thanks for the advice. I had thought about doing as you suggested, but wanted to see if anyone else had already made or acquired them. I have some Delrin ordered from McMaster-Carr, and will create a set.

Once finished, I will also make them available on loan to the forum for anyone else tackling a bottom end rebuild.
