Default Help!! space between the hood & front bumper

Need Help! just got my used jag xk8 & I've noticed a rather wide
space between the front bumper & the hood. I was told it was normal
for xk8s but I knew it wasn't. Does anybody here has a similar
situation as mine?

Thanks for any help!

Be more specific. How much space? A picture of the gap would be most helpful.

I just had my front fascia off while fixing an accident repair. There are a number of ways to tighten up gaps between the fascia/fender and fascia/hood.

That is definitely a large gap. The front fascia can be raised a little by the use of shim washers under the front edge of the fascia. Keep in mind there needs to be some gap in order to allow the front edge of the hood to dip while raising the hood.

If you look on your JTIS, you'll also note there are three (3) bolts on each side attaching the fascia to the lower fender edge. You may loosen these to facilitate a better fit.

I would be cautious about religning the hood on its hinges because of issues with the locking mechanisms at each upper hood corner.

Pulling the front fascia is not a difficult task. You can access the front bolts and three (3) push pins by raising the hood to its "service position" which is nearly 90 degrees vertical. Do this by removing the support pistons and inserting one each bolt on either side of the front hinge location. It looks precarious, but is actuall quite stable if you are not outdoors [in the wind].
