Default Help!!!!! with top not latching!!!

I have 01 xk8 with top no latching. I have read many threads from a very thorough person on this forum in regards to leaking of the lines and need help. I replaced the complete lines from the latch to the pump. I have checked each of the switches and all are working as per wiring diagram and jaguar tech bulletin 501-11. I think I am having a logic problem and not sure how to "make" the system work. I have done the following: removed battery cables and touched positive to negative, manually latched top and tried to get sequence to work. When with top down, the top down swithc does go to negative as it should but I get no chime and the latch does not retract. After closing the top and manually latching and all windows up, window sequencing is good, latch releases, top goes down, but no chime. When raising, top goes up and top raised and ready to latch switch go to ground but the latch does not continue with the hydraulic action. My fluid level is good. HHEEEELLLLPPPPPP!!!!!

Any chance the the two hydraulic lines between the pump and latch were accidently swapped in position during replacement? If you are not sure, interchange them at the pump and see if that solves your problem.

have tried the hose swap - latch immediately latches when not supposed to ... possibly rules out faulty latch. Hydraulic fluid is full with proper fluid, bypass valve is closed. Have tried many tiems to latch manually then hold top up button to get fluid to the latch. I just cannot get the latch to work. It will unlatch if I have everything all latched, remove battery cables and touch together, close bypass valve, relearn the windows, then put top down. All windows seem to go like they should, latch opens, top goes down. Works great but when down latch will not go into closed position?? I have checked all of the switches, checked for grounds properly on at security module, manually checked switches to body module and all seem to be working when they are supposed to. Really got me stumped AND aggrevated. HELP PLEASE.
