Default Higher Profile tires?

Hi All,

Looking for tire suggestions for my 2005 XK8, running the factory recommended tires, 245/40 on the front, and 255/40 on the back, on 19 inch stock rims.

Considering a taller profile tires to fill out the wheel well a bit more. This is my daily driver in the summer. Don't a need a z rated tire, and am willing to sacrifice a bit of performance for aesthetics.

I'm new to the forum, and your input is greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,
Johnell

It's important that the overall diameter of your new tires is close (within a half inch or so) to the original spec, or your speedometer will be inaccurate...in your case you would be traveling a bit faster than your speedo indicates.

You can also fill the wheel wellls a bit with lower springs on the front and rear, as many forum members have done.

Just as a side note: My Speed Gauge reads about 2-3 mph short on my stock rims and recommended tires sizes, I've validated this via GPS. When I'm pushing the speed buffer (ie +10mph) on the highway those 2-3 could be costly ! This might make for a curious poll / topic
