Default Hood open warning bypass help

The hood on my 1999 XK8 has the usual hose issues which i intend to replumb in the spring. ln the mean time i have a hood open error message. l read a thread that for the 150 you can bypass a switch behind a latch.

ls there such a bypass for the 100s? l know the hood is secure as ive done it with the allen key, i just want the light gone for the time being.

Any methods or tips on how to bypass the switch or where it can be found would be most appreciated.

I'm not sure if there is a way to bypass the switch or not, possibly though. I would suspect that either the switch is stuck, or you did not turn the allen key far enough for the latch to hit the switch. I used our convertible for over two years with the latch hoses disconnected, using the allen key to open and close the latch never getting hood open message when latch was closed. You might try operating the latch several times with top down and see if you are moving the latch fully.

Thanks for the heads up. l had a good look at the system and found a flat washer in the right latch well, thats all it took, light is gone now. The roof blew a hose and the system was ''stabized'' by a well intentioned shop, fortunately that is the only receipt from them i can find in the history folder The system needs new hoses etc, and thats a job for the spring.
