Default 'Hood Not Latched' warning

This warning popped. I know the hood is latched properly on both sides, tried several times. I checked under the driver (left) side latch by the firewall there is a small 2-pin connector. Is there a way to adjust or turn off this warning, or jump the 2 pins, etc.

Well, that was confusing. 'Hood not latched' refer to the convertible top 'hood' not being properly latched closed. When I cycled the top, the message went away.
The message you can get for the "front" hood is: 'Hood Open'
The message you can get for the "rear" hood is: 'Hood Not Latched'

Go figure.

Yeah, you confused the Bonnet with Hood. What an American thing to do.

Well, there is no warning message for a 'Bonnet'. Still will say 'Hood Open' (for the Bonnet).
And the rear powered cover is called 'Tonneau Closing Panel' in the owners manual, but warning message says "Hood not Latched'
I think Jaguar mixed up some warning messages for the american market.

British------------------- American
Bonnet------------------- Hood
Hood--------------------- Top
Boot---------------------- Trunk

They do this so we cannot understand what they are talking about in our common language.

Yes but we were here first, so have to be right!
After all the language is called 'English' not 'American'

I prefer keeping things short with less letters which I think we do this side if the pond, some notable examples below:

Tap - faucet/fawcett= waste of 3 or 4 letters
traffic jam - ongoing stationary situation = waste of 16

Hey but we don't mind so much and even allow you to drive our cars!

The British ability to add an extra and unnecessary 'U' into random words has always amazed me

on this topic however, my car says the bonnet (way more letters than hood by the way) when the front hood is unlatched.

I've had good success with electrical contact cleaner spray. I fixed a 'hood open' issue this way. As a follow up to my earlier post on that, someone noted that after spraying you should ensure the connectors are dry before reconnecting.
