Check fuse #13 in the engine compartment...is that also blown? There are two horns, and each is on a separate fuse.
Trending Topics
Each horn is on a separately fused circuit, common at the relay. This means one horn is not working at all in addition to the one that has a short circuit.
First thing I would do is inspect the wiring between both horns and the fusebox. If the wires are damaged, one could very well be shorting to the chassis while the other is broken.
If the wires look good, disconnect the wires at the passenger side horn and see if fuse 11 stops blowing. If it does, then the passenger side horn probably has an internal short and need to be replaced.

Both fuses are in the engine fusebox. I suspect one of horns (the one on fuse #13) was already not working and you just never noticed, and the other one was working until it started blowing the #11 fuse.

My 2000 came with one horn dead. They are nothing fancy and I got two "Freeway Blasters" from Canadian Tire that went right in. They even look like the originals. I'd look at replacing the actual horns as well as the relay. Good luck.
Hi,
I hope somebody is still responding on this post.
The alarm noises of my car are not working any more. A few month ago I noticed that the closing noise isn't sounding anymore. I checked the alarm and horn if its working and it was ok. Afterwards the closing noise worked for a while again. I didn't do anything else because I don't need the closing noise. Two weeks ago I had some time and checked the fuses. Everthing was fine and when I closed the car the locking noise was there again. But just for the day. When I opened the car on the next day the noise was gone again. Afterwards I checked the alert and the horn without luck. Today I checked the fuses again and put on some contact spray. And nothing is making noises anymore. I also checked the battery the voltage is alright. I have no problems with starting the engine. Do you have an idea? Is the sounder brooken down now and died a slow death? Are sounder alarm system, horn and sounder closing/opening noise are different moduls? Then my theory cab't be true or is nearly impossible. I would be happy If you have any further advices.
best regards
