Ok my Xj40 is still OBD1 and to clear codes on it you remove the negative battery cable for a few moments. How do you clear the OBDII codes on an 2002 XK8? It's my sisters car and I I've been working it and want to clear the CEL from the dash.

 

Any code reader should be able to clear the codes.

 

Buy an inexpensive code reader, or goto Autozone or Advance Auto and they will usually read/clear them for you.

 

even cheaper, if you have an android powered phone, get a $16 bluetooth adapter for the OBD port on ebay (even the clone china-made ELM units work with the jag) and spend $5 for the Torque app. It reads all the basic goodies and can clear CEL w/ ease. Just know, the one I got off ebay doesn't work with the Ford protocol (JWM something). Thats the problem with chinese electronics sometimes.
