I believe the later cars also have the chrome strip on the boot lid that says 'Jaguar', whereas the earlier Series 1 cars, which have fangs and are cleaner and more classically better looking, do not.

But there's always one!! I originally had the chrome new plinth but wanted something different. I had the J A G U A R letters on the top of boot, reminiscent of the E-type but when I put the spoiler on, I moved it to the plain body colored plinth. I even moved my boot button under the older plinth.
Yes, my XK8 is a Franken-Jag!!! Lol

The factory standard was chrome for the XK8 and body coloured for the XKR.

Frog's 2005 Final Series XKR

GGG's 2005 Final Series XK8

Many owners have changes theirs so it's not an absolute indication of N/A or S/C.

Graham, just noticed your car. Very nice. Zircon Blue with Quad exhausts? After I posted this I ended up with large pictures of your car. Yes I can see it has quad exhausts now, it is Zircon too?

Both cars are 2005 Frost Blue Final Series 4.2-S models. This is the European equivalent of the USA Victory Edition.

The top one with the quad exhausts was forum member Frog's Final Series XKR 4.2-S. Frog is a UK expat living in France. He sold the XKR in February 2014 to a German but the new owner has not turned up on the forum.

The bottom one with the single exhausts was my Final Series XK8 4.2-S. I part X'd this in November 2013 for my current XK. Again, the new owner has not turned up on the forum.
