Default How is the headlamp washer held in place?

I slid the headlamp washer into the angular grooves under the headlamp and put the chrome cap over the front, but is there anything locking the washer into the angular grooves? Perhaps mine is missing something. It seems as if the headlamp washer could slide out of those angular grooves under the headlamp.

You will know when you have the washer assembly properly pushed into the angular grooves because you will feel it click into place....

Hmmm, I don’t recall feeling a click. I will drive it and see if it stays in place.

NOT a good idea - it could fall off while driving and good luck finding another one. Just remove and reinstall and listen for the click.

Thanks. I did as you suggested and “kind of” heard a click. It feels much sturdier now.

I don’t want the washers to work. IMO, it is a needless complexity. I removed the #7 30amp fuse and the car drives fine. Personally, I would just as soon glue the chrome cover to the lamp housing and be done with them.

I agree. The whole system is just another useless plastic assembly subject to breakage. I saw it operate several times not long after we purchased the vehicle in early February 2012, but I have not noticed it operating in years. Fine with me as long as all the pieces stay properly attached....

I wouldn't glue it but, a small amount of clear rtv silicone would keep me from worrying about it. Sounds like you got it in right now.

Yes, I played with it some more and finally did hear a very slight click. now it is staying solidly in place without glue or silicone
