Default Headlight Washer

All,

Just recently the left headlamp washer is squirting above the lamp and onto the windshield. Can the washers be aimed?

Thanks in advance.

doubtful, i'd check and make sure its not damaged or partially blocked. Be careful...don't break it.

Yea, I have the same problem with the right headlamp washer. How do you make any adjustments to the washer head? Are you able to manually pull the washer head out and make adjustments to the spray aim?

am i the only on who ends up rolling over laughing whenever the things spray the lights? i mean what's the point of spraying the head lights when you don't have a wiper on them?

if you pull out the washer, youll find that 1 or both of the nozzles popped out and now you need to replace the assembly....
And no youre not the only 1 to laugh Black, I find the only thing theyre good for is messing up a clean car when all you want to do is clean off the windshirld alittle

When I first got the Jag, I thought "How cool!". Now, I dread them coming on and find them totally unnecessary, at least for my driving location. Eventually I'll probably remove a fuse or something to stop them from messing with my wax jobs....

Are these "secondary windshield washers" automatic or do you have to press something to make them come on and squirt?

going off of memory(disclaimer) I believe they only come on with headlights on auto or on and you hit the washer button. But if in doubt or to know for sure since Jaguar likes to change things from year to year and model to model........

I discovered that my headlight washers are activated every sixth time you push the washer button. Not sure why this is. Guess I have the RTFM too! Lol!

How did I discover this? I was rolling around on the ground laughing too when they come out and wanted to see it again. LMAO! I have an S type mind you so don't know if there is a difference between types.

Cheers!

Default Headlamp Washers...

Thanks for the advice and confirmation of what I also thought was a design short-coming!

Although they did not make me laugh when I first saw them operate, I did find them useless. That being said (although I like everything to work...I'm funny that way) now that they do not work, they are not effective, mess up the newly waxed hood and its not an easy fix, I may just let them be.

I disconnected the headlamp washers on my '88 Rolls Royce. All they did was water spot my bumper!! Easier to wipe them off with a wet paper towel occasionally! LOL
