Default Headlamp washer Does not work

Hi,

There are only two thing that don'r work in my 2009 X-Type Estate.

1. One is the headlamp washer which basically does nothing. Where to start, and finish? Has someone pulled a relay to stop draining off excess washer fluid perhaps? Where is that?

I have bought a Haynes but not read it much yet, the new ones are printed on toilet paper.

I have found out how the headlamp washer works and how to fix the jet assembly BUT nothing on why it won't work at all. I have even discovered the easy uncouple supply hose to the jets while changing light bulbs, almost impossible w/o breaking the connection..

2. The other bonus question i the headlamp turn on from the remote wnen approaching the car on foot.

It worked when I bought it, it doesn't now.

FYI I have changed the locking so it unlocks all doors on a single push, not just the drivers

Suggestions please?

Thanks for any help. I have had 2 SAAB 9000 Aeros for the last 20 years so really know my way around them, it's frustrating not knowing the nonsenses designed into a car which waste so much time for a little more design thought, or just not knowing the easy way round, rather than the long way round..

Brian.

Are you aware that the headlamp washer is scheduled to work only when the wipers and lights are on, and then only at an interval of something like 6 uses of the wipers? This, I think, is in your owner's manual.

I did get the manual with the car and read this bit of it, thanks. It is a good place to start. But that's not it.

So what next?
