How much should a predelivery inspection by a Jaguar dealership cost and what all does it include?

The PreDelivery Inspection (PDI) schedule is carried out only once at the dealership to prepare a new vehicle for sale.

I presume you mean an equivalent inspection of a used vehicle prior to sale? If so, the items to be checked will be much the same. Here is the Check Sheet:

The items listed under STANDARD CHECKS and ROAD TEST would be applicable to a used vehicle.

I'm not familiar with how this goes in the US but I certainly wouldn't be paying for this over here in the UK. I'd expect the vehicle to be checked and any faults rectified as part of the deal.

The going rate I've seen mentioned during the past couple of years was in the $100 to $150 range....

Graham, keep in mind that this person may be looking to pay for an inspection at a Jaguar dealership due to the car being sold by a third party....

That sounds about right

When I was in the business we did such inspections fairly often. Pricing varying according to how in-depth the customer wanted the inspection to be.

Most people just wanted a thorough 'safety check' type of thing....check the brakes, wipers, lights, etc and a visual inspection for any glaring faults.

Others wanted a compression test, cooling system pressure test, ODB check, etc.

Cheers

I purchased a 2004 XKR from an individual in North Carolina in December. He had a prepurchase inspection done at the local Jaguar dealer for $150.

Thanks guys I meant preporchase inspection on a used car. Dealer here quoted $250 and that seems a bit high.

when I purchased mine, I took it to a Jag dealer. I believe it was around $250.00.
I asked them to pressure test and there was a slight extra charge.
