I got a replacement right side emblem for my 2002 xk8 shown here. Anyone know how to remove the emblem base shown here on my car?

Looks like you would have to remove the wheel arch liner to get at that clip.
Hairdryer and dental floss if it's also glued on the outside.

 

This should help. one side had glue, the other did not, so you can see what works for what you may have. Mine were not glued and a thin upholstery prise tool did the job easily. Note that John has the UK version which is wired as a turn signal (repeater). The US version is just the leaper badge you show.

No need to remove wheel arch liner or any other trim.
