Jaguar issued a TSB on the canister purge valve. The symptoms of a bad one were a clicking sound from the left front wheel well and a gas smell from the same area (or maybe it's from the left rear... I'm not sure. Mine clicks, but it doesn't have the fuel smell). Anyway... the canister purge valve is in the left front wheel well. To get to it you need to remove the wheel (everyone should know how to do that) and the wheel well liner. The wheel well liner is easy. Here's a video on how to do it:

Once the wheel well liner is out, you can EASILY access the canister purge valve. It's in the back side of the wheel well. Here's a video on how to remove it:

If I had a bad canister purge valve, I have no doubt I could remove and replace it in 15 minutes. Of course, I have a floor jack, and an impact wrench. Even using just the jack that comes with the car you should be able to R&R it in 30 minutes.

If you don't mind, can you click that little "thanks" button on the bottom right of my post? I'm down by 12 to Gus, and every thanks counts. (On the other hand, Matt is so far behind he has no chance of catching me or Gus.)

There are 2 TSBs that potentially need to be addressed. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-smell-50466/
