hydraulic hose
hello forum... been a while... question.. my hydraulic hose for the convertible top went a while back so I bypassed the hose on the pump and capped them off so now I put the top up & down manually.. top was going up & down pretty quickly for quite awhile then it started to move very very slow and stopping in between afew times..... any idea why it started moving so slow and is this maybe causing another problem ??? or should I just have hose replaced to avoid future problems with top..?? thanks tony ... Car now has 82,700 miles on it...........

I don't understand. You are putting the top up manually and it slows down? Or you are manually controlling the latch and operating the top with the hydraulic pump?
If the latter, it may be the hydraulic cylinders are leaking and you're low on fluid. Have you checked the fluid level?

...I'm manually controlling the latch and operating the top with the pump.. fluid is low but I was told no need to fill up if I was doing it manually with latch & using the pump..... was this info. wrong ??? and should I fill the fluid..? maybe will correct the problem ? please advise tks. tony.........
* the two hydraulic hoses are disconnected and pump is capped off where hoses were...

First check the fluid level then check the petcock closed and if it does not improve lubricate the ram shafts with WD40. Remember that the rams have seals to preventing the fluid from escaping and so the upper seals may be dry and this might help.
Edit to add Remember you are still operating the roof with the pump so fill it to the top embossed line.
