Default hydraulic hoses

Took a first look at my hydraulic hoses, it says "power packer" on them. I read somewhere on this forum that some of 1997 had better hoses installed that are rated to handle the pressure. Am I in luck here?

Also, it looks that the fluid was changed at some point to Pentosin and I just need to add it to the proper level.

thanks,

The very early cars did, indeed, have a different hose manufacturer that seems to have survived the trials of many owners.

It would still be a good idea to install one of the pressure reduction solutions.

I believe that the 'Power Packer' hoses were better than the later ones but for more info than you ever wanted to know go to GUS's off-forum web site. http://www.gusglikas.com/autorepair.htm

Do you have a leak at the moment?

You need to read these two threads:

Don't think I have a leak, at least hope so. When I bought a car late last fall the guy tried opening the top but it did not work all that well, he needed to "give it a hand". I haven't touched it since. My plan is to refill the pump to proper levels, hopefully it'll do the trick and after that go with a V reduction method.
