Default Hydraulic roof lines

After reading Gus's diagnosis of the hydraulic lines and looking at his solution, I have a couple of questions.

Has anybody used the lines Gus recommended and where did you buy the adapters?

Gus's lines are actually brake lines, does anybody know how they would hold up with hydraulic fluid?

Thanks, but that was not my question.

Was looking for more about who has installed them and what difficulty they had and also what would hydraulic fluid do to brake lines over time.

I replaced my hoses and it took around 6 hours as indicated on my page and it seems that others took about the same time. As for the brake line and the fluid, the Hyd fluid is synthetic and is used in other cars as power steering and brake fluid.

Thanks again and a couple more question, are the only 2 sources the dealer and the company you got your hoses from?

Is there anything special about the adapters or will any with the right size work?

Moonpetal already has a thread were her husband is discussing possible alternative hydraulic line solutions, maybe it would be useful to post in that thread and combine your thoughts.

I installed the Coliflower hydraulic hoses on my 03 XKR last september...it took me about 12 hours, but I took my time. The adapters were supplied with the lines....no problems there... I`m happy so far and would recommend replacing with these lines without hesitation, but I have only had the new lines now for about 7 months now. I also replaced the latch cylinder when I did the job.

At the present time yes you only have 2 options; however, other options are being sought.
I did see the post by Moonpetal and posted a question about the cost of the hose if it was for one or two hoses.

I was very pleased with the lines from Colliflower. Very high quality. I have attached and re-attached mine at the top latch a couple of times over 2 years. The fittings are top notch and hold up well.

The hydraulic fluid is pretty tame stuff I can't imagine it damaging the lines.

I'd vote for these lines over stock anytime.

I replaced my roof lines about this time last year with the Coliflower lines. The various fittings and even additional ones were included. Shipping and communication from the Vendor was very good. It took about a day for the change over, but that is because I'm getting old and slow and it aches to bend over anymore (but it is still enjoyable tinkering with the Jag). Additionally, watch the slack in the lines when running them. The lines do not have any excess length in them. Also when you snip the cable ties that hold the lines, just snip the tie not the base. The base is slotted so that you can thread a new tie thru it. Anyway, very happy with Gus's efforts and the Vendor he got lined up.

I have called and emailed Colliflower and have gotten no results and I do not see anything on their website, are they still doing the lines?

A word of advice ... when contemplating posting a email address, consider how much you would appreciate your own email address being posted for the various spambots to harvest.

You need to understand that the people you are trying to reach are working people (they make the hose) not a sales person and have no knowledge about the application of the hose other than it fits a Jaguar. They only make the hoses and add the connectors as per my specifications. They are constantly called to the phone or e-mailed to answer questions about the hoses and they can only tell you that they have them, they make them and they can send them for a price. So if you want one tell them that, if you have questions about the hose see the spec sheet on my page or direct your questions to me because I asked them to make the hose kit.

First off, I DID say I wanted to buy one in both my email and on the phone and I asked for Michelle and the guy told me he would take a message.
Do you think they are the only ones working hard all day?
It has been 8 business days since the email and 7 since the call, that to me means a sloppily run business, hence why I am getting one from the dealer.

If you still want it let me know by PM and i will make a call. I agree it is not the way to run business and I am seeking another supplier.
