I Love this car. 1997 XK8
This is my first Jaguar after all these years of being a car fanatic. I've owned muscle cars for the longest time. I also have had Mercedes, Audi and so on for personal cars. I sold my 1969 GTO convertible after 22 years for a boatload of cash. I looked around for months at SL 500's , Audi's , you name it but never once at a Jaguar. A friend said I should check them out and see what I thought. Well I found the lines on the XK8 were beautiful. I also noticed while driving on the Long Island Expressway in NY I saw very few if any convertibles. Lots of Mercedes SL series. Next I wanted a color that was different. This color Blue is stunning and with the Ivory interior is a win. So I decided to give it a go and grab one at a fair price. Car rides great , runs even better and gets looks galore. With that being said I plan on buying a newer one this summer and keep this one as well. The forum has been very educational for me since I knew nothing about these cars. Thank you all.

Nice car and a really nice color combo. Enjoy the Jag and know that you have found the right place to get answers should you have any problems.
Let's hope in 22 years the appreciation on the Jag is as good as I suspect it was for the Pontiac.

nice color combo - looks to be in excellent shape too! As Mike said - this is the right place to address any and all issues - by far the best tool in an owner's tool box as it has saved me thousands in repairs.
Congrats and welcome to the fold. Two Jaguars? Why not?
A lot of improvements came with the later models, particularly in 2003.
I bought a 2006 VE with 27K miles and there hasn't been a single day that I wasn't in love with the car.
Consider a coupe for your second Jag... they're knockouts to look at and even have a tiny bit more room inside.
