Default Very Nice LED's

Im new here, and was just about to order an LED light ring kit from Adamesh for about $150 USD, which i am assuming , includes everything you need. If I bought these on ebay, at a substantial savings, are there any other parts to get these funtional? Will they look the same/better/ or worse than the Adamesh kit? Also, where, or what part, or bulb # is the parking light bulb contained in the headlight housing? Any comments would be appreciated from those with experience.

The Adamesh ones are the BMW style light tube, click on the eBay link I put up on the previous page half the price, probably cheaper in the US

Default led rings

Thanks xkracer. Are there any other modifications that I should be aware of? Will these fit? How do you affix them to the headlight? Silicone? Epoxy? Jb weld?How/where do u access wiring? Do you drill an acess hole to get the wiring to the back side of the headlight? Thanks for your expertise. Also any special bulb to upgrade the small marker lamp in the headlamp to led?

You can access the side light circuit from inside the lamp unit, 2 black wires, splice into these, remember they are LEDs and polarity sensitive, I have never fitted the BMW halo rings as I am not a fan, they look too BMW ?

You will be able to fix them to the aperture of the front lens assembly, it will come clear once you remove the light unit and seperate the glass section from the main lamp via that plastic clips around the outside....

If you want them to come on with the ignition you will have to run the wires outside the lamp unit to a switched feed, there is one in the passenger side fuse box in the engine bay

Default halo rings

Xkracer , do. The led rings you make look like paragons with the polished aluminum ring? Do you have a pair for sale? Very interested.

I purchased 100 mm angel rings on Ebay last winter at $10.00 a pair and I installed them in the bezels (very easy job just time consuming). I also installed 12 smd leds H1 (not the bluish color but nice warm white) in the fog lights. It's a special FLAT LED H1, the rounded ones dont fit in the slot. I modified the wiring so that the fog become the DRL's and I control the low beams from the console foglight switch. I like the mod very much. I'm not too crazy about the ring's color (too bluish for my liking). That's why I purchased a remote control from my chinese friends and I can switch them on/off with it even at a distance, very neat. I'm not getting any error message and I did not install the big heatsink resistors to fool the system. I used to have HID low beam mods but I removed them. The HID H1 bubl was very long and used to flicker on every bump like a motorcycle headlight. It looked awfull so I'm back with halogens now.

I think it came out very nice looking.
They make a version of the 100mm LED ring with a transparent cover that looks a little more finished in the housing, but when they're on, it won't matter anyway.

Nice job.

I used automotive goop and double sided tape to fix the rings.
T5 bulbs are the small parking lights and I purchased a led version on ebay :

They are somewhat more bluish than the H1 fog led but less than the angel rings and acceptable (in my opinion), much brighter than oem but NO heat (I noticed that the sockets must have come very hot). The H1 flat 12 smd came from ebay too.

Since I already had drilled a hole in the plastic cap covering the back of the H1 headlight assembly, I used the rubber boot provided by the H1 HID kit (which I removed) to route the wires out. Makes for a very neat installation but silicone or goop would be fine.

Ok, let me recap what I understand from this thread.
First, the size of the ring is 100mm.
Second, The tube style is too BMW, which I agree.
Third, IMO they don't look as good in the full chrome housing, as they reflect too much, so the black headlamp, housing should correct that.

I've contacted adamesh but they said theirs aren't bright enough to work as drl but look good at night. I like those guys! They tell you the truth!!

I think the rings with the individual LEDs remind me of the range rover drls so they make more sense to me.

Does anyone know of a set that isn't so blue? A warmer white? That's my only pet peeve!!

I don't use blue/cool white but natural white, however you can get warm white which are more yellowie.....

The problem you get with some of the rings available is they fit inside the lamp unit, actually on the reflector, this cancels out any adjustment because the area for the lamp to move has been taken up by the ring.
Mine fit inside the front section of the lamp and does not hinder any adjustment and IMO look the best, they just also cost the most, the joys of bespoke parts made to fit as apposed to something generic which kind of fits with issues

How do they do for daytime use. Most LEDs simply don't show up in sunlight. Nature of the beast?
Do you have a photo of the rings ub installed? I can't picture the aluminum rings.
