Default I need a photo...

Greetings gang!

In another post, I mentioned that my 99 XK8 was in a front end collision before I purchased it and that my air bag light warning has always been on.

Today, I found both front end impact sensors taped onto the X brace that is right in front of the radiator, so of course they weren't grounded.

I ran a ground jumper wire to both of them and no more air bag warning light!

That's the good part!

The bad part is that I have not come across any drawing or picture as to where these impact sensors are to be mounted.

I've searched every square inch and can't find any mounting holes that will match up with the sensor's mounting holes.

I have a 'gut' feeling that when the guy put everything back together, that he omitted the mounting braces for them???

Does anyone have pictures of the mounted sensors (or even an articulate drawing) so that I can get these back to where they belong?

If not, could anybody help a fellow 'Jagger' by taking pictures for me?

A million thanks!!!

This might help a little. Don't have an actual photo but click on the drawing below for a larger version.

Impact Sensors
Two primary crash sensors are fitted on the vehicle front upper cross member, in front of the radiator, inboard of the headlamps. These crash sensors are hardwired to the airbags. At least one of the crash sensors must be made, along with the safing sensor, for airbags to deploy. A disarm feature is incorporated in the control module that removes all deployment power from the airbag/SRS without the closure of a primary sensor.

Default Problem solved!

Thanks Brad!

That was perfect!

Evidently the cross member was two-sided (front and back), and only the front side was installed after the crash, thus no holes to mount the sensors with.

A little drilling and we're good-to-go.

Thanks again!
