Default I'm new to the club, my 2004 xk8

Hi everyone. Picked up this in Pittsburgh last week, and now I'm cruising down the Atlantic Coast for a few days.
Landed in Outer Banks first, heading down to Myrtle Beach next, then Savannah, GA and not sure where I'll go from there.
Seemed like the best way an unemployed guy to

take advantage of life, right?

Cool, man, and congrats! Mine was a silver convertible with black interior. Loved that car.

Lots of people made the boo-boo you have made, as the 1997-2006 XK8 and XKR models are the X100 series. This is the 2007-2015 X150 series forum.
While not a big deal at all, you'll feel more at home in the X100 forum. Still feel free to visit here though.

A moderator will probably move this thread to the correct forum for you.

Sounds like fun. You are a trusting soul to take a trip like that in a 16 year-old car that you've only had a week. But, then again, I wouldn't hesitate to do it in mine. Your dog must be a good traveler. He probably doesn't chew your ear off yapping all the time !

Hi dacookster,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

Thanks for sharing the photos of your beautiful Jaguar!

When you get to Savannah, have some she-crab soup and low country boil for me!

Cheers,

Don

Congrats dacookster on your XK8 acquisition and on promptly and sensibly using it for a trip down the coast. That's exactly what the car is meant for!

A couple years ago, my wife and I drove my '06 coupe down the West Coast to a Jaguar (JCNA) lawn leak at our old haunt, Santa Barbara, about a 1,000 mile round trip. I thought the trip was sublime and the Jag was perfect. My wife however wished we had taken our capacious Land Rover LR3 or even our Chevy pickup truck, so she could have bought more antique furnishings. Well, as I said, the cozy Jag was perfect for the trip!
