Default Impeller wheels never looked so good!!

Due to some damage to my black wheels, I had to have them re finished. So I decided to go with a new finish all together!
My trim shop just sent me pics at 1:30am! I can't believe how amazing they look! I never really liked the style but I have to say in this new Argent silver, they look awesome!! He was able to use the black as the base coat and layer a graphite silver over it to get this deep metallic finish.
I can't wait to pick up my car in the morning. Here's the pic he sent.

Another angle.
I think they look totally fresh and yet factory! Similar to some of the new jaguar wheels!!
I hope these meet better approval than my black in black from before!!
He's begging me to let him put carbon wrap inside the forks. I'm trying to be good and say no!! Too modern for this car!

I'm liking them so far, but I need to see them on your car. I might have my revolvers finished in that color. Maybe they'll look acceptable.

Picking up in a while. If rain holds out, I'll post some finished pics.

Looks good, Phil...I'm a few weeks away from doing a full respray, and I'm going to choose a similar deep silver (with black base) for my wheels AND all of the trim that comes stock in Dorchester Grey (window trim, cowl cover, parts of the rearview mirrors, etc).

I may go with a slightly brighter silver than you've chosen...but not much.

Did your guy not bother to remove the tires before he painted the wheels? I notice he masked the inside of the wheel, too...what's up with that?

First, it's a nite photograph and the clear isn't on yet so the metallic will pop a bit more. I too thought about painting all my trim that color since its got a few flaws here and there. But the wheels are in the same family as the Dorchester gray so I think I'll just touch up.
And since the wheels were powder coated black, we left the inside black to hide the brake dust issues. He actually let out a bit of air so he could mask and he's always ended up with perfect results so not worried here.
I actually thought about a satin finish clear after seing the finish but went ahead with gloss. I just thought the flatter finish seemed too edgy for the car.
I almost regretted putting any more money in these wheels since they're not my favorite style, nut I've got to say, this may change my mind.
Now if my rear lowering springs would just get here!

I liked the design of the Impelar wheels on my last XK8 and they are certainly more robust than the Sepangs on my current present car.

The finish you've got there now looks better than the very bright silver OE factory finish.

Phil, just an FYI. Lots of guys (including me) have gone with Akebono ceramic brake pads, which create virtually NO dust. The OE pads (and some others) put out ungodly amounts of dust, as you probably know. It was a huge upgrade and relief to upgrade to the Akebonos, and they're affordable.

For my car, the Akebono part numbers are EUR 394A for the fronts, and EUR 688A for the rears.

I LOVE the sepangs but just more than I wanted to put in my wheels. I think when the rear is lowered and not such a gap between the arch and wheel, they'll look better.

Graham,

Your coupe is indeed lovely in the foreground, but your home in the background is even lovelier. How long does it take you to mow your grass?

First pic!
I'm happy with them! Not factory but not ricer either!
Almost a dead match to the Dorchester gray trim. Wish it was a sunny day to really see the finish!

Agreed. The 4.0 always looks a bit too high off the ground.

I always think Paul Pavlik's looks the perfect height whenever I see a pic of it.
