Improved Convertible Top Lines?
Hi,
I just had my first green shower ('06 XKR) and had the convertible top lines replaced with Jaguar part number HJB8256AB.
I had been babying the old lines by only opening and closing the top with the engine stopped (under the theory that lower voltage on the hydraulic pump with the engine off means lower pump speed and less pressure on the lines).
I asked whether I need to baby the new lines and/or when I can expect the second green shower. Was told that Jaguar had improved the replacement lines (so that people didn't receive a second green shower) and that the new lines should last indefinitely.
The new lines do look different... anyone know if they should last longer?
Thanks,
Marc

If the hoses can accept the 1600psi the pump puts out and excessive tempraturs then they will be fine but I know of only two hoses that will meet that criteria and they are listed on my page at www.jagrepair.com. the other option is to install the pressure relief valve from LSI and that is on my page.
