Instrument binnacle lights not working
The lights on my instrument cluster work only intermittently and my local authorised dealer repair shop say it cannot be repaired - parts are no longer available. Also, the courtesy light above and near the rear vision mirror goes on and off whilst driving. This is not such a problem during the day but for night-time driving it is a pest. Has anyone had similar problems? Can anyone advise or offer any suggestions?
1) does the intermittent courtesy light mirror the dashboard lights at all?
2) you have to tell us what car you have(yr, model)
3) can you do anything to cause either of these faults to trip?
4) any messages on your dashboard during this? (IOW your car doesn't think the door opened right?)
5) do the puddle lights come on simultaneously?
6) verify 4 me, do the headlights have to be on to cause either fault?
7) does the dimmer have any effect?
8) have you recently done any work on the car?
just trying to get centered.

Unless it's a very late registered import, your 2008 must be an aluminium bodied X150 like mine - NOT the earlier steel bodied X100........
