Default Intake Tube Upgrade and MPG

Hi all,

I just installed the Mina Gallery Intake Tube (not the hot air intake). What is the expected impact on file economy.

I used to get 18MPG but the trip computer is reporting 8MPG (while my scanner reports 14).

Just curious what a reasonable delta with the new tube would be. Also, I can't seem to zero the onboard trip computer. Finally, why would there be such a large delta between it and the scanner?

Thanks and still learning about this stuff!

I just installed one of those also (retaining the stock airbox though with a K&N). I did not notice any change to the fuel economy but I did notice the engine is slightly more responsive, especially off idle.

Thanks all. I was able to reset the gauges and MPG reports as expected.

Thanks!

Just curious as to how or why the gauges needed "resetting"?

I finally got the trip computer working resetting the MPG statistics. I assume I killed the stats when I was mucking with the AC and had car idling for long time.

Got it. By the way did you notice much with the tube change on your car?

I like it. Sound is a bit better but the real difference is from 30-60, it no longer bogs there. It's a much smoother acceleration.

I'd recommend to everyone. It's cheap and easy.
