Default Invisible bra anyone?

I was looking into having an invisible bra/shield put on the front of the my car. Has anyone else done this?

Happy with the results?

Any recommendations as to the manufacturer? 3M, Avery Xpel etc...

Hey, Hill2302. My 2006 had the 3M clear bra installed by the original owner, and I am very impressed. It has 28,000 miles on it now, and very few marks, certainly no chips, in the covered area. There's also one spot where it looks like he rubbed the curb a bit under the right front side light, and it seems to have only damaged the film, not the paint, although I haven't peeled it off to see. I would suspect the greatest warning would be sure that whoever installs it knows what they are doing. From a few feet away, mine is hardly noticable. I also saw a new, black Corvette ZR1 that had the 3M coverage all the way back to the windshield and to the front of the doors. I mean, you can tell it's there when you look carefully, but it really was beautiful anyway. Mine ends about two feet up the bonnet, so you do have that edge there, but if you are careful to remove any dried wax etc., you don't see it much. If you look carefully at the following picture, you can just see the edge about 18" back of the headlight on the left fender. I also have it on the mirrors, headlights and the fog lights. (I wish I had it on my wife's XJ8, because she just had a fog light destroyed.)

Hope that helps.

My 03 had the see through bra installed by the previous owner. What impressed me the most was the detailer was able to get the swirl marks left by the prior owners poor washing habits out even over the bra area!

Invisible panties are better... but that's a topic for a different thread.

I don't have one on my XKR yet, as I have not even picked it up yet. ;-) However, I do have one on my 2006 VW Touareg. I goes about a third of the way up the hood and covers the lights and mirrors as well. My VW is black and when it is clean it almost invisible. Not a single scratch or ding on my VW. It has been on there for four years and I drive it through the powerwash every week, so it is amazingly durable.

I am actually thinking of having one put on the XKR while I am in Dallas before I drive it back to Iowa. Just to be safe.

Worth every penny.

I had my local trimmer install one on my black 01 XKR years ago, next owner says its still perfect. My current 98 XK8 had it already on when I bought the car, have no idea how long its been on, car is always garaged. Does show some imperfect spots, but for all I know could be 25 yrs old. Highly recommend. Only cost $400, then probably twice that now.
