Talking best way to REMOVE A BRA?

My car came with an "invisible bra" or whatever its called, from the dealer.

It was great to begin with, keeping chips and stuff from my paint job....Now though that it is a couple of years old, you can see the "Line" of where it is and I feel it looks a little tacky (not to mention dirt gets stuck there).

Is there an easy way I could remove it myself without spending a ton of $$$$ ?

I'd be willing to pay the few extra bucks to get a professional to remove the bra. Wait a minute...that doesn't sound right.

Why don't you call a local trim shop to see how they would recommend it be removed? I'm think just a bit of heat? If you are replacing it with new, they may include the removal in the install. If you are totally DIYing there must be helpful hints out there.

I have the same problem on my car. I've been removing it bit-by-bit. I only have the portion on the hood left to do. Here's how I've done it.

1. Wait for a hot sunny day (high 80s or low 90s is great)

2. Park the car with the portion of the bra you want to remove directly facing the sun for a couple of hours (heats up the metal).

3. Starting from one corner, use a hair dryer to heat up about a 3 inch square, and then carefully peel the bra off from that corner. To minimize pulling on the paint, peel parallel to the metal and not straight up. Keep heating and peeling until the film is all off.

4. Once the film is off, use a wax/glue removing solvent (you can get one at any auto parts store) to clean up any remaining glue residue on the paint.

5. Polish and wax the car to even out the finish.

WARNING: I've heard that if your car's been re-sprayed, the paint can rip off in chunks as you remove the film. The baked on factory finishes are more durable. The paint on my car is all original, so I'm not experiencing any problems with this, but your mileage may vary. If in doubt, pay an experienced window/film company to do it.

You're very welcome, Platinum. I'm in the Pacific Northwest too! The hot days we've had the last couple of weeks have been great for doing this job. It's cooled off quite a bit since the weekend, so I need to wait for another opportunity to work on the hood.

Well I managed to remove the "invisible bra" type sticky stuff from my rear view mirrors with just GooGone.

I debadged my back end tonight.... Just took me 3 weeks to do it... GooGone was not enuff, had to let my nails grow as well, so I could apply the GG and then use a Ton of Elbow grease (with my elongated nails) to get off the stickystuff LOL... Looks great now
