For some reason, after my wife drove the XK8 for the weekend, I noticed a part broken part on the passenger seat. Below is the pic of the piece i need. Being from the mid-west I dont have any auto yards with Jags in them. Does someone know of where I can get this plastic cover?? Or have one that i might be able to purchase?

This is called the front seat mechanism cover and comes in a variety of colors. The part number is GJA4731AASDC where the last three letters are for the color but it also depends on the VIN number.

I had a broken one also. I bought a new one from Tom at JaguarPartsCenter.com. It wasn't cheap but it sure looks better than one that is missing. All you have to do is catch something on it when you get out of the car and it's borken.

 

IIRC, Ken at motorcarsltd has a few xk8s with the tan interior, I bet he has one of those in his salvage yard that'll match.

Call him up, get him a color trim code, and see if he can help ya.

 

Did we learn a lesson here, about wives and our XK8s??? In my case, I gave her an X350, but she had to swear off the XK8....oh sure, she still gets to "ride" in it...occasionally....when I'm in a good mood.

Women and mechanical things, never the two shall meet. Luckily the 350 never breaks.

 

Lesson has been learned...She knows it too. I think I will have to upgrade her Jeep Liberty to something else to keep her out of the XK8! She has been wanting a Nissan Murano with all the bells and whistles.
