Thanks for the encouragement sklimii. I guess at some point I'll get over my fear of causing more of an issue than I start with. I feel like I did the right things prior to the purchase but I certainly want to be as proactive as possible with the car. It is a very low mileage (26k) auto that I'd like to be able to keep for the long haul. I also hope that it is good experience and would like to add an XF awd in place of my CTS.

I'd like to add to this thread !

Got my silver/oatmeal,'01 XK8 convertible one year ago this month. it had 97k and I took it to 104k before I parked it for the Chicagoland winter.

Like all of you, I own this car for it's OUTSTANDING body lines.

I bought new tires and the "plug" that covers the tow hook opening in the rear bumper. That's all, so far.

I've had a few of the common warning indicators and some have seemed to solve themselves, others I addressed...

Since I'm in the body/paint biz, I have plans to touch-up a few very minor issues at some point. I was going to do it over the Winter but never got around to it.

What I'd like most is the new leather seat upholstery.....

I've bought the tensioners for weather I need them or not. Still have that job ahead of me..

PS ALL the girlz just JUMP-IN this little XK, I kid you not !

+1 on Steve's comment. This forum has saved my bacon on numerous occasions.

I had given up wrenching my own stuff until the blue cat came along. Now I find it relaxing (usually). Just jump in.

And by all means, drive it! You will be happier and the car will have less issues. They want to be driven.
