Jag Experts: Can I use the blue BMW anti-freeze on my '05 XKR?
Hi: my '05 XKR still has the original pee-pee yellow anti-freeze. I have several gallons of BMW brand anti-freeze left over from my BMW days. Would it be O.K.(after flushing) to use up the german anti-freeze in my Jag?
Cohibarandy
I wouldn't take the chance of using the BMW It may be OK but I would use your recommended antifreeze. There has been a big discussion on this in previous posts. Actually I don't remember the blue BMW coolant was never mentioned.

The Ford (aa Jag) and BMW are of the same type so you could use it. As you probably know the BMW spec isn't easy to find, so you could easily sell it off and use the proper Ford coolant.
Have a read here Coolant/Antifreeze

You could probably use any modern anti freeze as long as you change it often enough.
Ford , Mercedes Benz and Chrysler use G05 chemistry. GM uses Dexcool and Toyota, Honda and BMW also have their own formulas.
These formulas came in the late 80's and early 90's to meet demands for extended service intervals as the traditional green stuff was found to cause corrosion on alloy components if it was not changed. But even the green universal stuff is pretty safe these days.
