Jaguar XK8 - Modern Sporting Icon Book
When it caught my eye the other day while perusing the magazines at B&N, my eyes almost popped out of my head when I saw it. It's the best XK8 book I've seen. At $17.50 it's a bargain but, as a "magazine" it won't be around very long.
I zipped down the road and nabbed a copy.
Only 3 on the shelf at my local store, get 'em before they are gone.
Great find....this is a really nicely done, colorful compliation. It even has the article on Avos' twin-screw upgrade!
Thanks brobin for the heads up!!

Thanks a lot from my wife - perfect Xmass gift! I ordered a few back copies of Jaguar world from Kelsey shop http://www.kelseyshop.co.uk - namely July-November 2008 - some maintenance stuff...
I'm going to have to go to B&N tomorrow! It really surprises me that there would be a market for a book/magazine like this. I mean, how many XK8/R's were produced? 100,000? Even if they managed to get 10% of the owners to buy a copy, that's only 10,000 copies. But I would never have known that it existed without reading about it here, so I doubt they'll sell even 10K.

No luck at the B&N in Phoenix either. I ordered it online from http://www.xkec.co.uk/home/xk_books.php £14.99 including shipping from the UK.
Lucked out in Ft. Myers, Fl. They had one left. It was in the magazine section. Read in it that no 4.0 were fitted with the metal chain tensioners. I thought I was safe with my 2002, but magazine thinks new tensioners started with the 4.2 engine.
Yesterday, I called my local Amherst (Buffalo area) B&N and was told that they had "them." I had one saved for me, and my wife picked it up later that day. I did not ask how many they had, but "them" is plural. A call to (716) 837-7209 would let anyone know how many, and if they will ship it.

Seattle Area Jaggers - Got one at the Lynnwood B&N yesterday. They have 7 left on the shelf. It will only be 6 after I pick one up tonight as a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law. They are nicely done, but it is difficult to get the price tag off of the front cover.

Use a Razor Blade to help pry the label(s) off. Then use a Solvent (such as Road & Tar Remover) to clean up the Adhesive Residue.

Thanks, Paul. I was a little concerned about a solvant damaging the finish on the cover. Mine has a little residue left. I'll try some Goof-Off on it.
You are reading a thread that is almost four years old. I think the only place to find a copy now is used book stores or ebay.
