Hi,

I have a 2000 XK8 that I purchased with a small amount of damage and a deployed air bag. After repairs including the air bag, the light for the air bag stayed on blink code 12. I replaced the SRS module (blue box) and blink code changed to code 52. I then purchased IDS soft tune with mongoose cable, the IDS says it can't communicate. Also, the IDS software in the module section only shows icons for the ECM & ABS. No SRS icon.

Is this IDS capable of clearing SRS fault codes?

Is the IDS capable of erasing crash damage?

Can the SRS blue box be swapped out without reprogramming? The car won't pass inspection with the air bag light.

Last thing, the SRS module is only showing 4.3 volts on pin #3 at DLC connector.

 

Hi does anyone have any experience resetting an air bag code on a 2000 model year xk8.
My IDS software and mongoose cable doesn't seem to be capable of resetting the module.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!

You probably need to fix whatever is causing your SRS light to come on before it will clear itself. Have you looked up the flash code on the forum?
