Jolt from Rear

Jolt from Rear
Hi I am planning to change the Gearbox fluid and filter as a precaution (95K miles) but I also have another issue and I would like to know if its connected.
Occassionally I get a jolt when I start off, this usually happens when I have been running, stop for a second or two then set off.
It feels like a large jolt at the rear suspension than all is then fine.
This is very occassional say once every few weeks and this car is my dailey driver.
Any guidance would be welcome.

take a read at Jaguar S-Type Ownership Experience - The ZF LURCH Fault and see if it describes your symptoms. If it does, it may very well improve with a fluid change, or two. It is common to have a lurch on the ZF transmission we use, some cars have more frequent, others don't have as many. Mine only happens if I don't come to a complete stop, so I've learned to stop, then move forward. Also sport mode helps me decrease the number of times it happens, when I'm not into paying attention to my stops.

Mine has done this for about 20k miles but could not be replicated by the dealer. it has become more prevalent lately and I havebeen in sport mode more often (switch is not latching right replacemtn is on work bench). It seems to be repeatable when the transmission is cold and I run it fairly aggressively to an almost stopped roll, then I get the thud from behind.
Although today, ufortunatley it was another car failing to stop-minor scuff.
The dealer indicated once it was to a repeatable condition, likely cause was a throttle body which could be hanging up from crud or could be failing. Servicing and flushing transmission may help.
Curious as to outcome for you.

Steven
