Hello jaguar enthusiasts,
the wind deflector was mounted on my XKR as I bought it.
As I tried to dismount it yesterday, I found that there’s a key hole to which I don’t have a key!
the former owner doesn’t know where they could be either.
is there a way to dismount it without the original key?

I had the same problem but it's some time ago now and I can't remember exactly what I did. I think you can gently push the side trim back far enough to be able to remove the deflector with the "pin" still extended at the back.
I couldn't find anyone who recognised the type of locking mechanism, so drilled it out and put a threaded stud in there. Will take a photograph later and add it to this post.

 

JUst remove as above and take to locksmith. They made new keys for me
