Have a knocking/clunking noise almost like metal on metal from rear when engine is cold, disappears after about 10 mins, its constant with wheel speed but only when decelerating , sounds like the half shaft is hitting something but can't see anything???

 

Half shaft joint maybe.

If only when cold, maybe over axle pipe and uni joint contact, heat creating clearance and pendulum effect of rear end on deceleration?
Check your hangers above diff pinion.

 

The half-shafts have zerk grease fittings. Have they been attended to recently ?

Well thankyou, popped Gerald on axle stands and had a look at the half shaft exhaust clearance, it was about 2mm, put a ty wrap on the exhaust and round the anti roll bar to see if I could get an extra 1mm on there, well job done, no noise, so put a new exhaust hanger on and jobs a good un as we say, thankyou 🙂
