Default At last success with engine problem

Hi all,
I have been posting some desperate messages over the last month or so trying to get my 97 xk8 to run, some may remember that it would default to limp home mode after running normally for a few minutes.
An engine scan indicated a fault with 4 coils associated with one ignition module as well as the module itself. No joy with swapping components with the other set that were not 'under a cloud'
At last I bit the bullet and purchased an exchange Engine Control Unit from a company in the states. They were helpful and it arrived in prompt time.
Result, instant fix. Better still other nagging difficulties like reluctant cruise control suddenly became operational.
Thank you for all those who offered advise
Regards
Al

Hi all,
The company that provided the exchange ECU was somewhat prosaically called Specialised ECU Repairs
On a sample of one they seemed to deliver very promptly and I would recommend them to anyone. They had specific information and listing for the xk8

Good to hear you got it fixed.

Any programming issues or was the replacement ECU 'plug & play'?

Al,

Thanks for confirming it's 'plug and play'.

Thoughts of dealer reprogramming are a big concern to anyone with module issues.
