Default LED Lights

Has anyone installed LED lights for turn signal, brakes and running lights? Leave the head lights out for now.

Okay--other than being the "latest and greatest" flavor of the moment, what is the appeal of led lights? In general, the look of these on cars I have seen is actually less attractive, IMHO, versus the normal incandescent arrangement. I understand they might be a bit brighter and respond a nanosecond quicker versus standard bulbs but in more than 40 years of driving, I have never had a problem discerning whether brake lights are going on in the car in front of me.

The more gimmicky flavor-of-the-moment are those too cutesy "pixie" light strings I see on the Audis and Mercedes near or around the headlights. Just looks so precious--NOT!

I wanted a more even and brighter light and from the ones I have seen the LED’s provide that. I am not looking for the BMW or AUDI appearance at all. I was just considering them for replacement options.

The cars I have seen with LEDs look brighter but not even. Rather, they appear to be a bunch of bright points or dots of light (e.g., most of the Infinti's I have seen). I would much prefer it if they could approach a uniform appearance that looks more like a light panel than a bunch of brightly lit dots--just my taste.

Gus,
I have the LED Quad Lights.............and I love them! I always hated the dated look of my original rear lights on my 2000. Unfortunately for me, they didn't change them until a few years later, and the OEM's are now much more attractive. I definitely missed the boat, so I had them changed, and I am now quite content with the updated, sportier look of quad LED's.

Hey Gus,
I have a couple of pictures in my Album, unfortunately, I'm NOT a good photographer like you. The first picture is really pretty distorted, so I'm suprised that I uploaded it, maybe it was a mistake. The garaged picture is more realistic..............and definitely not posed. Anyway, here they are:

I know that everyone has their own view on whether or not to modify their Jags, but speaking for myself...........I like the look of the Quads!

I had the wood pieces custom made in England by Myrtle Productions. Initially, I was smitten by the Arden interior, but it was exorbitantly expensive! I found a Steering Wheel on eBay that Myrtle was selling and bought it. They specialize in Rolls, Bentley and Jag woodwork, and their work was first rate! I contacted them, and found that unfortunately, they only made the basic Jag replacement parts like the Steering Wheel, Dash pieces and Gearshift Knobs. Fortunately, they agreed to take on my job which included as many interior pieces as they could do. Burl Steering Wheel, Console and Lid, Door Panels, Door Handle Surrounds, Brake Handle, Ceiling Light/Garage Opener Surround and Steering Wheel Control Button Surrounds. Anyway, I love the look of fine wood veneers, and it makes my Jag very distinctive, which is fine by me.

Gus, I did LEDs in my turns front and rear, the brake/tail bulb, and the rear fogs. I tested a TON of different styles.

Remember this post?

I really like the different look the LEDs give to the turn signals...not the 'slow' burn of the yellow bulb anymore. Also, the brake lamps are VERY bright, much more so than the original ones. Using the right LEDs make all the difference.

Here's my turn signals now after install.

One for each turn signal, and two for the tail/brake combo bulb.

When you see my electrical schematic, you'll see it.
