Is this light stock?
I am not sure if this LED looking thing in the middle of the vent is a stock item or something the previous owner added. Anyone know?
There is also a red LED inside at the top of the fuel gauge and temp gauge housing, behind the plastic lens. Is that also stock? What's it do?

Thanks! For whatever reason I'm getting a lot of failures to upload pictures regardless of the format the picture is saved in and regardless of browser used. Anyway, the pic shows what I've described but I will take your word for it - that there was some kind of an aftermarket add-on put into this car.
This may or may not have something to do with the device located on the front license plate frame, which I thought was a parking sensor but is not. Hmm...

Stealth radar detector?
.
That's what I was thinking. But have not seen or heard anything to indicate these items are active after passing by several cops likely using radar or laser this weekend.

Ok, here are two pictures of the front license plate frame. The box at the bottom of the frame has wires running out the back (have not traced them yet) and what looks like an LED lens on the front.
Anyone guess what it is or who makes it?

It is similar to my K40 radar. Look for a hidden volume control with a concentric town/off/country switch. Mine is inside the sunglasses door at my knee. When it is turned on it makes a sound and light show.
The following possibilities come to mind for that kind of box in that location:
1. radar detector
2. radar jammer
3. gate opener
4. garage door opener
If nothing 'interesting' is happening, possibly the PO has removed the main kit but left the sensor and warning lights in place as it was too much trouble to remove them.....?

I should have said city off highway switch. These are stealth units that cost $1000+ new.
Dr. D, you beat me to it. I was just out checking it and found the box for the K40 unit, and the volume control/on-off switch. There are actually two lights in the gauges, as well as the one which switches from green to orange, depending upon how the outer control knob is turned. There is even a small speaker in the ac vent on the dash. I had no idea this thing was installed when I bought the car barely a month ago - BONUS! Ha!
One thing, I do a lot of driving in VA and I know they use VG2 to detect illegal radar detectors (VA is the only state aside from DC that bans use them completely. DC bans possession outright).
Is this unit somewhat VG2 resistant or is it best to keep it turned off when driving in VA?

Sunglasses door? On an English car? I thought that was for change. Another discovery - thanks!
