lights going off

Lightbulb lights going off

as I pulled up at home tonight my head light went off and back on again.I think this has happend before but I dont drive a lot after dark.I confirm there is a problem as the drivers window lost its setting.checked battery lead and chassis earth all tight.new battery september 2012.
any help please

It's usually the headlamp wiring in the steering column stalk.
JTIS is quite helpful here - start by removing the differential, transmission and engine then install them in a car with working headlights.
Seriously, though, try to reproduce the fault to see what is related to it.

Almost sounds like the issue Rev Sam had in this thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...as-time-39893/

He had lights go off and window memory loss etc...

checked fuses in boot that go to battery..all tight.
no water ever been here..so back to square one....

both go out..for just a fraction of a second..then back on, happend a few times

Checked fuses - are you saying the ones that the big thick battery cable goes to behind the spare tire?

You don't mention that you checked the crimps on this thick cable which it turns out is what Rev Sam's issue was, not necessarily that the nuts were lose (which has also been found to be a problem), but check the crimps as it seems there was an issue with his and others causing these symptoms.
